We’re passionate about our environments which is how we know just how important every detail of building a healthy and rich habitat is. We utilise the combination of both hydro-morphological concepts and geomorphic analysis of each project and river system to allow us to extensively comprehend the unique requirements. This allows us to create an effective tailored plan of action for each ecosystem in order to diversify and biologically enhance the habitat we working on.

To find out more about how we put this into action, click below to take a look at some of our previous projects.

Improving Eel habitat on the Broadlands Estate

Environments can sometimes degrade over time, and this project worked with a number of partners in order to improve and encourage European Eel habitats. We worked to restore historical fish stews and the existing channels, overcoming a range of challenges on a site that had a variety of ground levels and was largely unmanaged.

Lake development and marginal planting

This private estate had undergone significant development, and this project saw us create a healthy biodiverse fishing lake and horse dip through large scale landscaping and extensive project management.

Creating habitats for commercial use - East Lodge

This project looked to utilise our knowledge and experience in creating a range of further fish habitats in the form of stock fish ponds to add to the commercial fishery side of the estate.

Habitat development on the River Test – Southington Mill

This phase of development on the River Test at Southington looked to extend the rich environments on previously poor stretches of the river. As a result helping to develop the spawning habitats of the migratory species on the watercourse.

Transforming river habitats - East Lodge

This initial project involved extensive landscaping and restoration to develop a rich biodiversity, and as a result supporting the commercial fishing on site.

Tributary restoration of the River Itchen

This project looked to carry out restoration works on a stretch of the River Itchen in order to improve natural light and consequently the habitats and biodiversity. This was a good example of delivering a project within a complex environment with the limited space that sometimes comes with working in a natural and wild environment.
